Upper arto dysfunction is a common disability after ictus. About 30%-66% of ictus patients are still unable to uso their upper limbs after 6 months of ictus, which seriously affects activities of daily living(ADL). Bilateral movement allenamento is a new trattamento emerging in recent years. Many studies have shown that bilateral movement allenamento has significant advantages in improving neurologico defects and promoting brain function recombination, compared with unilateral movement allenamento. This studio investigated the effect and mechanism of bilateral movement allenamento on upper arto dysfunction in patients with emiplegia.
Subjects and methods
52 patients with emiplegia were randomly divided into trattamento group (n=26) and control group (n=26). The trattamento group was treated with bilateral esercizio terapia, and the control group was trained with traditional neurodevelopmental method on the affected upper arto. The trattamento lasted for 6 weeks. Fugl-Meyer rated upper arto (FMA-UE) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) were used to evaluate before and after trattamento.
Results
One paziente in the trattamento group failed to complete all tests. Most patients in the trattamento group felt sore and fatigue in the first few days of allenamento, which gradually disappeared after continuous allenamento without affecting the allenamento. There were no significant differences in FMA-UE and MBI scores between the two groups before trattamento (P > 0.05). After trattamento, FMA-UE and MBI scores in both groups were significantly higher than before trattamento(P<0.001); the score of the trattamento group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01) (Table2&3).
Conclusions
Bilateral movement allenamento can significantly migliorare the upper arto motor function and daily living ability of emiplegia patients during riabilitazione.
